Hemorrhoids develop in two forms which are internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids occur within the rectum, since you have no pain receptors in the area where internal hemorrhoids occur you won't normally know that you have them unless they are irritated in such a way that they tend to bleed which is an indication that you may be suffering from internal hemorrhoids.
If internal hemorrhoids go untreated the problem can generally develop into either Prolasped Hemorrhoids or Strangulated Hemorrhoids. A Prolasped Hemorrhoid is an internal hemorrhoid that has been pushed outside of the anus, while Strangulated Hemorrhoids are those that occur when your Sphincter Muscle spasm, this results in trapping the hemorrhoid outside of the anal opening cutting of the supply of blood to the veins.
External hemorrhoids occur outside of the distant margin of your anal canal, and are sometimes painful accompanied with irritation and swelling. This type of hemorrhoid is more likely to rupture and is also prone to developing blood clots. When clots develop the hemorrhoid is then classified as a Thrombosed Hemorrhoid.
