Use Common Sense Dealing With The Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill
50There are many people proposing many ideas on dealing with the Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill, and I would say that some have merit while others are just insane.
Now I'm not saying that crazy ideas will gain traction or I hope they won't, but I do question why those with reasonable working solution aren't or are hardly heard from but the wacky dangerous ideas seem to make it into the lime light.
Environmental Disasters
For instance an early proposal I had heard was to detonate explosive on the sea bed to cause a collapse that would supposedly seal the leak.
What this idea fails to take into account is that it could in all likelihood cause fishers to open up since there is a massive amount of pressure behind the rising oil and the explosion could ignite the gas that is also rushing to the surface.
Another far fetch ideal I saw on the news two days ago was a proposal that the united states government should use a nuclear weapon to seal the leak, the though behind this being that the ocean floor would collapse on itself.
This is an extremely foolish proposal because if you've seen old subterranean nuclear detonation footage from the era when nuclear test were conducted, these weapons test were done with bombs placed at the bottom of mile long shafts. These shafts are then sealed to contain the massive power of the blast underneath the ground.
As a result when the blast takes place the ground heaves up then collapses leaving what can essentially be described as a concave footprint and it's the massive weight of all that earth and rock the contains the blast and radiation from escaping and reeking havoc.
Supposing we were to attempt such a thing, it seems to be forgotten that oil and gas in which there are hundreds of millions of barrels and God only knows how many cubic feet of gas underneath the ground are highly volatile materials. The amount of heat generated by an atomic blast would surely ignite this material causing a calamity of biblical proportions.
Even if one assumes that the blast would not ignite the oil and the gas the radiation generated from such a nuclear detonation would most certainly contaminate the gulf coast for decades to come, killing off all life in that part of the sea and contaminating the cost and inland areas with poisonous radioactive fallout.
Lets put our heads together and come up with real viable solutions that can actually help, and lets hope those in charge of our media outlets instead of the putting forth idiocy which has gotten us into this dilemma in the first place. Let them instead seek out individuals or groups who's knowledge and expertise can actually help in solving this problem before it gets any worse! They're out there looking to help if we would only listen to their to voices!

I heard tonight that some were considering Nuking the well. I wonder how many morons it took to come up with this? Keep Hubbing!
