Trying To Conceive - Treating Infertility When Your Trying To Get Pregnant

Infertility is a problem that affects both men and women and one that can be caused by several factors.

Some of these include disease (which will be explained later on in this article):
For women infertility can be a result of Endometriosis, Poor Ovarian Reserve, Ovulation Disorders and Low Progesterone levels.

For Men infertility can be the result of Low Sperm Count, Low Sperm Mobility, Sexual Transmitted Diseases, Injury, Sperm Blockage, Chronic Disease and Aging.

When your trying to conceive and you can't the first question that pops into your head are what treatments are available for trying to conceive, are they expensive and what are the side effects to such treatments.

There are various drugs and systematic treatments that are available that are able to correct infertility problems in both men and women.

These treatment are quite expensive and have side effects that can be harmful to the patient, thus requiring additional treatment to treat the side effects of the original treatment.

The most common treatment for infertility today for couples trying to conceive a baby is IVF or In Vitro Fertilization, another treatment that is also used is ICSI or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection.

In Vitro Fertilization is the process by which a womens egg is removed from her ovary fertilized by sperm outside of the body then placed in the womens uterus to hopefully grow into new born child.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is an In Vitro Fertilization Procedure in which a single sperm is injected into a womens egg. This procedure is done under a microscope using micro-manipulation devices.

It's evident from the above explanations that not only is this expensive to do it is also a very complicated process that can lead to failure since nature is not taking it's natural course and man is intervening with technology.

As a result Alternative Methods or Holistic approaches are coming into light that have very good results in helping couples trying to conceive a baby, and since these are natural approaches are free from the dangerous side effects of associated with drug therapies and surgical manipulation.

One Holistic Natural Alternative is Acupuncture practices by the Chinese for about 2000 years. It has been reported that when acupuncture is applied to the ear of an infertile women it causes the brain to produce hormones that are necessary for the ovaries. In proceeding with such treatment over a 90 day period as shown good results in pregnancy rates.

By the same token the holistic approach must also examine what is ingested that may affect a womens ability to get pregnant.

For instance diets that have a regular intake of caffeine which can be found in such things as coffee, chocolate, green tea, black tea, cocoa, soft drinks can have harmful effects if your trying to conceive. It is therefore vital if you are having problems conceiving that you alter your diet so that you remove those sources that will inhibit you from getting pregnant.

Iron deficiency has also been linked to infertility in women therefore a well balanced diet and proper supplement intake can help. There are several over-the-counter nutritional supplements that are designed specifically for fertility. Addition of these nutritional supplements can help with your fertility. This assumes that the cause of a womens infertility is the direct result of vitamin and mineral deficiency.

Poor nutrition and poor physical conditioning this includes being underweight and overweight are also know to effect a womens fertility.
